Every documentary leaves research behind. Our film about Rapa Nui carried 2,110 words of narration. The verified evidence behind it runs to 12,192.
These are not transcripts. They are the eighty-five per cent that was cut for time — the registers, the contested dates, the sources we read and the ones we refused, and the questions the film had no room to sit with.

Volume I is finished and is not being offered until it has passed an independent audit and the publisher has authorised it. We are not taking pre-orders and we are not collecting addresses against it.
