THE ARCHIVIST

Privacy

What we hold, and what we do not

The site itself collects nothing

These pages carry no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising, no third-party scripts and no cookies. Reading the archive is anonymous. That is not a policy we adopted so much as a consequence of how the site is built — it is static files and nothing else.

If you buy a book

We hold three things, and only these three:

  • Your email address — to send your download links, and to re-issue them whenever you ask.
  • An order reference — so we can find your purchase if you write to us.
  • A payment-provider reference — their receipt identifier, not your card.

We never see or store your card number, and we do not hold your name, address or country. The payment provider handles payment; card details never touch our servers or our logs.

How long

Order records are kept as long as accounting requires, then deleted. You can ask for your email address to be removed at any time — your download links stop working when it is, so we will say so before doing it rather than after.

What we will not do

  • No marketing email unless you separately ask for it.
  • No selling, sharing or renting your address. Ever.
  • No profiling, no advertising identifiers, no data brokers.

Your rights

Ask what we hold, correct it, or have it deleted. Write to us and we will do it without asking why.
